  1. US

The Spruce Kings are coming off a 5-3 win in Penticton against the Vees this past Wednesday night to wrap up the five game road trip. Fin Williams made his return to the Spruce Kings lineup and got an assist in the return. Nolan Welsh had two goals including the game winner with just under six minutes to play in the game. Carter Cochrane, Ryan McAllister, and Wil Kushniryk also tallied for Prince George. Jett Alexander got the win in goal making 31 saves and getting first star honours. Kushniryk has now joined the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League for the time being.

The Spruce Kings have also made a pair of trades. PG has acquired forward Domenic Garozzo from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in exchange for future considerations. Garozzo has 10 points in 19 games so far this season. He will make his Spruce Kings debut this afternoon. The Spruce Kings have also acquired Brett Gammer from the Battleford’s North Stars in exchange for Jaxon Steele.

THEM

Powell River is coming off a 3-0 win in West Kelowna against the Warriors. Goaltender Thomas Wardle had a 31 save shutout in the victory. Hunter McCoy, Jacob Badal, and Nolan Krogfoss had the three goals in the Powell River victory. This afternoon’s game marks the final game on the Powell River road trip.

  1. US VS THEM

This is the second and final meeting between the Spruce Kings and Powell River. The Kings defeated Prince George by a 4-1 score at the Hap Parker Arena in Powell River. Nick Poisson had the lone goal in the defeat for the Prince George Spruce Kings.

  1. THIS AND THAT

THIS: Following tonight’s game with Powell River, the Spruce Kings home-stand continues as they host the Chilliwack Chiefs for a pair of games beginning Thursday night against the Chilliwack Chiefs. That one is slated for a 7:00 PM puck drop THAT: Fin Williams and Nick Poisson have left to Calgary for the Team Canada West World Jr A Camp. Williams has 16 points in 14 games this year, while Poisson has a team leading 30 points and 11 goals.

  1. PLAYERS TO WATCH

SPRUCE KINGS (F) DOMENIC GAROZZO

The newly acquired forward has a lot of speed and versatility. Garozzo had 10 points in 19 games with Salmon Arm this year and had some time on the team’s first line as well. It is Garozzo’s Spruce Kings debut and he will look to provide a spark and some energy for the Spruce Kings.

KINGS – (G) DEREK KRALL

The Powell River goaltender has had the Spruce Kings number thus far this season. Krall played stellar as a Penticton Vee when they were in PG getting an overtime victory and then in his Powell River debut where he made 30 plus saves to get his first win as a member of Powell River. Krall looks to continue that trend this afternoon at the RMCA.
