  1. US

The Spruce Kings are coming off a 7-2 loss at the hands of the Surrey Eagles last night in Surrey. Corey Cunningham and Nick Poisson were the lone goal scorers for Prince George. Both goals came in the second on the man advantage. Jett Alexander was forced to leave with an equipment issue but eventually got it resolved and came back into the game a few minutes later. Prince George did outshoot the Eagles but were unable to execute. Nick Bochen also made his return to the ice after a lengthy absence due to a high ankle sprain. Bochen logged 17 minutes of ice time in his return.

THEM

The Chiefs are coming off an OT loss against the Langley Rivermen last night at the George Preston Rec Centre. The Chiefs had five different goal scorers including Nikita Nesterenko, Joey Larson, Kyle Penney, Davis Murray, and Cooper Moore. Mathieu Caron got credited with the loss, making 23 stops on 29 shots.

  1. US VS THEM

This is the fourth of eight meetings between the division rivals. The Spruce Kings and Chiefs split a few weeks back at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. Nolan Welsh had a hat trick in his return after being injured. The Spruce Kings then fell to the Chiefs the following Saturday. The last time these clubs met in Chilliwack was week 3 of the season where the Chiefs defeated Prince George 6-2 in the Chiefs home opener

  1. THIS AND THAT

THIS: This is the final game of the three game road trip for Prince George. After tonight’s game with Chilliwack, the Spruce Kings return home for three games beginning Wednesday night against the Vernon Vipers. THAT: Corey Cunningham’s power-play goal last night puts him in the team lead for power-play goals this season. Cunningham also sits in the top 5 in the BCHL in power-play markers.

  1. PLAYERS TO WATCH

SPRUCE KINGS – (D) NICK BOCHEN

The Spruce Kings finally have six rostered defencemen in the lineup for the second game in a row. Bochen now has a game under his belt since being injured. Bochen can make a difference each and every time he steps on the ice, especially on the man advantage. He looks to help his club end this road trip on a high note in Chilliwack tonight.

CHIEFS – (D) COOPER MOORE

Moore had a tough weekend a few weeks back at the  RMCA. The Detroit Red Wings draft pick took a couple of undisciplined penalties, leading to him being healthy scratched the following night.  Moore sits in the top 10 for defensive scoring this year and looks to make a mark on tonight’s clash with the Spruce Kings.
