  1. US

The Spruce Kings are looking for more of the same tonight as they seek back to back wins for the first time this season.

Prince George is coming off a 4-2 win against the Langley Rivermen last night. Nolan Welsh continues to impress as the captain now has nine points in seven games since returning from his hip injury. Welsh scored twice last night and also added an assist on the empty net goal scored by Chong Min Lee. Jett Alexander was solid once again making 34 saves in the victory. 16 year old defenceman Amran Bhabra was named the Fortis Energy player of the game. Bhabra knows his team needs to do more of the same tonight to be successful..

“They are a pretty quick team, and they like to work side to side, so I think if we are able to defend that, we should be successful”.

THEM

The Rivermen found themselves ahead in the 2nd period by a 2-0 score, but were unable to hold on. Brendan Budy had a heck of a night, having two assists in the loss. Kevin Leduc and Joseph Musa had the lone goals for the Rivermen in the setback. Braedon Fleming was solid in between the pipes making 25 saves in the setback.

  1. US VS THEM

This is the third of eight meetings between the division rivals. The Spruce Kings have won both matchups so far with some big time goals from both Nolan Welsh and Chong Min Lee. The Rivermen have been right there in each game, and are looking for a different result tonight.

  1. THIS AND THAT

THIS: After tonight’s matchup with Langley, the Spruce Kings head back on the road for a mainland trip. The trip begins Wednesday night against the division leading Coquitlam Express. THAT: Nolan Welsh has torn it up since returning from injury. The Captain has points in every game since returning from his injury two weeks ago.

  1. PLAYERS TO WATCH

 SPRUCE KINGS –(D) EVAN ORR

Orr had four great chances to score last night, but came up just short. The shifty defender likes to jump up in the play and shoot the puck. Orr hit two posts last night and just missed the goal on a mad scramble in front of the net. He definitely had his chances, and will look to build off that into tonight.

 RIVERMEN – (F) BRENDAN BUDY

Budy continues to turn heads around the BCHL. The North Dakota commit had two assists last night, showing he is one of the dominant and dynamic forwards in the BCHL.
