  1. US

The Spruce Kings return home for a pair of games beginning tonight against the Langley Rivermen

Prince George is coming off a 6-1 loss at the hands of the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Nolan Welsh had the lone goal for Prince George in the loss. The Spruce Kings finished 1-2 on the Island road trip, with the one win coming against the Victoria Grizzlies. The line of Nolan Welsh, Chong Min Lee, and Nick Poisson have points in their last five games heading into tonight’s date with Langley. Jett Alexander has also been great as of late, as the 20-year-old goaltender was 1-1 on the weekend with a sub 2 GAA including a 37 save performance against the Victoria Grizzlies.

Prince George also got to see the debut of newly added forward Wil Kushniryk who played with Jaxon Steele on the weekend and Steele feels that there is slowly but surely going to be chemistry between the two forwards…

“It has been really good so far, I think we compliment each other pretty well, and he’s a big body that works hard in the corners which also makes it fun.”

2. THEM

The Rivermen are coming off a 3-1 loss against the division leading Coquitlam Express this past weekend. Defenceman Jake Livingstone had the lone goal for the Rivermen while goaltender Braedon Fleming made 18 saves in the loss. Livingstone currently sits 2nd in BCHL Power-Play goals by a defenceman heading into tonight’s game.

  1. US VS THEM

This is the second of eight meetings between the division rivals. The Spruce Kings drew first blood on September 23rd , defeating Langley courtesy of a late goal scored by Chong Min Lee in Langley.

  1. THIS AND THAT

THIS: These two teams will meet again tomorrow night, to wrap up a brief two game home-stand. Tomorrow nights game will be slated for a 7:00 puck drop at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. THAT: Nolan Welsh has torn it up since returning from injury. The Captain has points in every game since returning from his injury two weeks ago.

  1. PLAYERS TO WATCH

SPRUCE KINGS –(F) NICK POISSON

Poisson could be the player to watch every single night the Spruce Kings take the ice. #24 has had a sensational start to begin this season. The returning Spruce King has 21 points in 18 games heading into tonight and has goals in four of his last five. The winger for Prince George will look to help his club get some points this weekend against the Langley Rivermen.

RIVERMEN – (G) BRAEDON FLEMING

The returning goaltender for Langley has always been tough. Fleming is 8-8 on the year and had a great outing the last time these two teams met. Fleming also sports a 2.88 GAA heading into tonight’s clash with the Spruce Kings.
