Ruddy Commits to Lancers

The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to congratulate defenseman and 2017/2018 Fan Favourite Award Winner Chays Ruddy on his commitment to play hockey at Windsor University Lancers in Ontario.

Ruddy was acquired last August by the Spruce Kings, and played a big leadership role on the back end this season. He finished with 14 assists in 57 games, and scored his first BCHL goal in Game 3 of the first round of this years playoffs. He also added 5 assists.

“We are excited for Chays and his commitment to Windsor University for next season. Chays was a tremendous competitor and leader for this us this year. He has left our program in a better place and this commitment to play U Sport Hockey is very well deserved.” Said Spruce Kings Head Coach Adam Maglio.

Ruddy is a veteran of 151 Junior A Regular Season games, and 54 playoffs games. He has also attended two RBC Cups, playing in 4 games for the Trenton Golden Hawks at the 2016/2017 event in Lloydminster, AB.

Former Spruce King Adam Burnett currently plays for the Lancers.

Ruddy is the 11th player from this year’s Spruce Kings team to commit to post-secondary education for hockey. Six of those players will return next season.
