Rivermen edge Spruce Kings in tight-checking affair

The Langley Rivermen continue to have the upper hand on the Prince George Spruce Kings.

Brendan Budy and Angus Crookshank both notched their eight of the season to propel the hosts to a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Kyle Johnson replied for the Spruce Kings in defeat who also went 0 for 6 on the power-play.

Evan DeBrouwer made 19 saves in net for the visitors.

Langley outshot Prince George 21-19 overall in the contest.

The Rivermen are now three points up on the Spruce Kings for top-spot in the Mainland Division.

The next game for Prince George is on Sunday against the Surrey Eagles.
