Over 100 Prospects

The Spruce Kings Spring Camp will showcase over 100 prospects this weekend

The Prince George Spruce are excited to announce that over 100 players have registered for their annual Spring Prospects Camp which will be taking place this weekend (April 11 -13) at their home rink, the Prince George Coliseum.

The Spruce Kings are coming off another strong season where they finished with a 32-20-4-2 record for 70 points and second place in the tough Mainland Division. There will be a lot of core players returning to next season’s team which makes this weekend’s camp very vital for players hoping to turn some heads, get the attention of the Spruce King’s management and coaching staff and possibly earn one of the few valuable vacancies on the roster.

“This camp has been a very productive tool for us over the past few seasons, we work hard during the course of the season to ensure that some very good prospects attend,” said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. “We’ve had over a dozen players from the last three spring camps play on our teams. It’s great that the camp has done its job and produced some very good players for us.”

Camp begins on Friday April 11th with registration at 10:00am. Each team will practice once Friday afternoon. Games begin Friday at 4:30pm and continue all day Saturday and Sunday morning. Camp will conclude on Sunday with the annual Top Prospect Game which has the top prospects in the camp competing against each other in one last game to garner the attention of the Spruce Kings brass. Top Prospect game time is 2:00pm on Sunday April 13th.

The camp is open all weekend to the public and our fabulous Spruce Kings fans are encouraged to come down and see what the future of the Spruce Kings looks like.
