Manz marvels BCHL, earns mention in Player of the Week honours

A Prince George Spruce King’s incredible weekend performance has been recognized by the BCHL.

Forward Dustin Manz has been named as an honorable mention in this week’s Player of the Week award.

The native of Vanderbilt, Michigan tallied four assists against the Surrey Eagles on Friday and Saturday nights at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA), leading to 5-0 and 4-1 respectively.

He has a total of seven points (1G, 6A) through four games in the 2017-18 season.

The Lake Superior State commit for 2018-19 also First Star honours in Friday’s game is currently one of three Spruce Kings sitting in the Top 10 list for points thus far behind Patrick Cozzi (6th), and Ben Brar (8th).

 

 

RELEASE:

Powell River Kings forward Carter Turnbull has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending September 17th, the league announced Monday.

Turnbull racked up three goals and four assists in helping the Kings to a pair of road wins.

The Nanaimo native had the winning goal plus three helpers in a 9-1 win in Nanaimo Friday and followed that up with two goals and an assist in a 9-7 win in Cowichan Valley.

He was named 2nd Star on both occasions.

The 19-year-old is currently tied with teammate Jonny Evans atop the BCHL scoring list with 10 points in four games.

Turnbull is committed to the University of Connecticut for next season.
