Signed out of Spring Camp last year, Liam McCloskey is one of the many budding stars on the Spruce Kings roster. Along with former Vancouver NE Chiefs teammates Kyle Johnson and Parker Colley, McCloskey came to joined the team after a strong spring camp He picked up his first BCHL point in his third start, falling in overtime to the Victoria Grizzlies at the Bauer Showcase in Chilliwack. He was 2nd star that afternoon after stopping 34 of 36 shots, and coming up big especially in overtime.
McCloskey had his first win in a big weekend for himself. After the team fell 7-3 the night before to the Trail Smoke Eaters, McCloskey got the start against Vernon where he stopped 46 of 49 starts, and the next night went into Salmon Arm and stopped 37 of 40 shots in a win against the Silverbacks who had only lost twice into mid-October. Those two wins made for PG’s first winning streak of the year.
