FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings will start their 17th season in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with four preseason games between August 28 and September 1, 2012. The preseason schedule has been finalized and will feature four games over five nights with a pair of games against the Trail Smoke Eaters and a home-and-home set with the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). The only home date on the Spruce Kings preseason schedule is Saturday September 1st at 7:00pm in the Coliseum against the Grand Prairie Storm. On the Friday night, August 31st, the Prince George Spruce Kings will be in the Canada Games Arena in Grand Prairie to face the Storm on their home sheet of ice at 7:30pm (6:30pm Pacific). The Spruce Kings will start the preseason with a pair of neutral site games against the Trail Smoke Eaters at the Art Holding Memorial Arena in Chase, BC. On Tuesday August 28th, Prince George will open the double-header as the away team and follow that up on Wednesday August 29th as the home team against their long-time rivals the Smoke Eaters. Following these preseason games, the Spruce Kings will start play in the 2012-13 season at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack September 7-9, 2012, The Spruce Kings first game will be Saturday at noon against the Merritt Centennials and the second game will be Sunday at 6pm versus the Langley Rivermen. Both games will be played out of the Prospera Centre in Chilliwack, BC. |
