Ethan de Jong joined the Spruce Kings last season as an affiliated player appearing in nine regular season games. He joins the Spruce Kings after playing for the Burnaby Winter Club Prep team where he lead the team in scoring with 84 points (30 goals and 54 assists) in just 56 games. His BCHL first point came against the Surrey Eagles. in his very first game with Prince George. Out on the ice late in the game with a one goal lead de Jong was able to spring Parker Colley for a breakaway to tap the puck into an empty net. The goal was Colley’s first in the BCHL.

Along with BWC teammates Liam Watson-Brawn and Ben Poisson, de Jong committed to playing for the Spruce Kings following the Christmas break, and signed the official papers while on a road trip to Wenatchee in February.

 

During the Spruce Kings 2016 Main Camp de Jong had four goals and four assists in five games which had him tied for third in camp scoring with Tanner Campbell. The training camp was highlighted for de Jong with a hat-trick in the final all-star game.
