PRINCE GEORGE, BC – Jujhar Khaira (pron: Juh_Jar Care_ah) of the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) placed top ten in four of the physical tests at the NHL Combine in advance of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
With the seventh largest wing span measurement of 77.75 inches, Khaira also showed his strength in the bench press finishing fifth with 12 reps of 150 lbs and also eighth for strength lifting 9.1 lb/lb of body weight a full 4 points above the Combine average. In the test of upper body power, Khaira was fourth throwing a 4 kg ball 232 inches.
2012 NHL SCOUTING COMBINE TOP 10 RESULTS
Jujhar Khaira has shown his dedication and commitment to being the best player he can since arriving in Prince George in August 2010 for the Spruce Kings main training camp. In his rookie season in the BCHL, Khaira established himself as an elite player in the League finishing second in team scoring and earning a four year scholarship to Michigan Tech as a 16 year old.
In his second year, Khaira was selected to represent Team Canada West earning gold at the World Junior A Challenge. He also finished in the top ten among league scoring, second on the Spruce Kings and the top 17 year old points leader.
In the final rankings of the NHL Central Scouting, Khaira is the top ranked eligible BCHL player for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. The Draft will be held in Pittsburgh, PA on June 22 and 23, 2012. NHL Entry Draft Official Site |
