Chase Golightly Scholarship
Chase Golightly secures a scholarship with Robert Morris University

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) would like to announce the NCAA Division I scholarship commitment of Chase Golightly to Robert Morris University beginning with the 2012-13 season.

"As an organization we are very happy that Chase (Golightly) was able to achieve his goal of securing an NCAA Division I scholarship," said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. "Chase has been a very good player for the Prince George Spruce Kings for the past two season and has become a premier defenceman in the BCHL. He is very deserving of this achievement and we all wish him the best in his hockey career."

First coming to Prince George in December of 2010, Golightly has played in 84 games with the Spruce Kings amassing a total of 8 goals, 48 assists and 71 minutes in penalties. Those 56 points place the offensively gifted defenceman in the top ten among blue liners for career points with the Spruce Kings.

Chase Golightly will become the first Spruce Kings alumni to attend Robert Morris University located outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Colonials men’s hockey team plays out of the Atlantic Hockey Association.

Robert Morris University has an enrollment of over 5,000 students offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business, engineering, mathematics, education, social sciences, nursing, health sciences, communication, information systems and science.
