Alex Murray Nets a Div I Scholarship to AIC

 

Alex Murray has secured a NCAA Division I Scholarship to AIC

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are proud to announce the commitment of Alex Murray to the American International College Yellow Jackets for the 2014-15 season. American International College is located in Springfield Massachusetts and is a NCAA Division I school playing out of the Atlantic Hockey Conference.

Alex Murray is a ’93 born, 6’0” 190 pound goaltender from Burlington Ontario. The twenty year old joined the Spruce Kings at the start of the 2013/ 2104 season. This season Murray finished in the top 5 in the BCHL in wins, goals against average and save percentage.

“We are very excited that Alex has secured this scholarship,” said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. “Alex is a tremendous young man, a terrific team player and a very talented goaltender.”

“Alex has the ability to be a big game goaltender and he was able to win games on his own for us last season,” added Hawes. “He brought a sense of calm to the rest of the group because of their confidence in him. We wish him the best of luck at AIC and we’re glad that we could assist him in achieving his goal of earning a NCAA Division 1 scholarship.”
