The 2016-17 season schedule has been fully uploaded to the BCHL website, available under the league’s SCHEDULES & SCORES menu.
The Spruce Kings season opens Friday, Sept. 9 and concludes on Sunday, Feb. 26. The 2017 playoffs start on Friday, March 3.
Prince George will have their home opener on September 9th when they take on the Merritt Centennials. 15 of the team’s first 19 games will be home games, with the inclusion of one “home game” being played at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack.
Again the Bauer BCHL Showcase is in Chilliwack and this year runs Sept. 21 to 25. The Spruce Kings play Merritt on the 22nd at 7:30pm and the Penticton Vees at 4pm on the 23rd.
The schedule break during Christmas will be from Dec. 19 to 28.
Other important dates on the Junior A calendar in the coming season include:
– The World Junior A Challenge (WJAC), Dec. 11 to 17 in Bonnyville, Alta.
– Junior hockey roster deadline, Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017
– RBC Cup national championship, May 13 to 21 in Cobourg, Ont
